The market for CBD products is booming with a forecasted revenue of twenty billion dollars by the end of 2024. Is CBD worth all the hype? Let us look at some of the health benefits of CBD products, say CBD oil.

Many of the studies done on animals have shown that CBD has anti-inflammatory effects and that it works on the pain-sensing systems of the body to relieve pain. However, there are only a few human trials that look at the effectiveness of CBD in relieving pain. Health Canada has approved the use of a combination medication that has CBD and THC in a ratio of 1:1 for cancer pain and nerve-related pain relief in multiple sclerosis. An observational study of CBD treatment showed an improvement in the quality of life of people suffering from non-cancer-related pain.

It was found in a test that pretreatment with 300 mg CBD relived anxiety in 57 male participants who took part in simulated public speaking. In another observational study, it was found that CBD was beneficial in relieving anxiety. The study was conducted on 400 people out of which 21 had anxiety issues. As per the results of these studies, we can conclude that CBD may relieve anxiety in people, however, we do not have enough details about the optimal CBD dosage for anxiety relief.

Most of the studies to find if CBD is useful in relieving vomiting and nausea have used a combination of CBD and THC, rather than using CBD alone. A review conducted in 2016 found that the combination is more effective than a placebo. However, some of the more recent researches show THC to be more effective at controlling vomiting and nausea. Therefore we can conclude that the combination of CBD and THC is effective in treating vomiting and nausea.

Sleep Disorders

Many people who are taking CBD to treat other conditions like non-cancer-related pain and anxiety reported a remarkable improvement in sleep quality. In a study of 72 people, 48 reported an improvement in sleep scores. However, the number of people fluctuated over time. In another trial, 300 mg of CBD was given to people with depression or anxiety and it was found that CBD preserved the sleep architecture of the person.
