We have come across different CBD products ranging from edibles to topicals. We know that all these are not made of the same CBD from the list of ingredients. How are they different?

There are different spectrums of CBD namely, full-spectrum, isolate, and broad-spectrum CBD. Each of them is known for different reasons and used for the same purpose in dissimilar situations.

Full-spectrum is taken by people who do not mind having a little THC in the system. For those who do not know what THC is, it is a cannabinoid present in the cannabis plants (from which CBD is extracted) that will get you high.  However, since hemp contains very little THC (lesser than 0.3 percent), it is not considered psychoactive– both medically and legally.

Isolate CBD is the purest form of CBD as it contains 99 percent of it. Being high in dosage, it is often prescribed to people who need high doses of pure CBD.

Broad-spectrum CBD is not widely available in the market as it is not manufactured in huge numbers. As people are satisfied with full-spectrum and isolate CBD, brands are not that eager to introduce a broad- spectrum into the market. Moreover, research is still being done on it, because of which no one is certain about its effect.

Why Should You Use Full-Spectrum CBD?

Full-spectrum hemp is the least processed form of CBD out there. It is extracted from the hemp using carbon dioxide extraction and later goes through another separation process to remove waxes and other unwanted compounds.

After the processing, the full-spectrum CBD will contain:

These are organic compounds that have been proven to help our body in several ways. They are typically present in all fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc, and are responsible for their natural scent. They too bind with receptors in our brain and trigger changes. For example, one of the well-known terpenes is beta-caryophyllene which has anti-inflammatory properties.

Fats, Minerals, And Vitamins

Essential fats like omega-3 and omega-6 are present in full-spectrum hemp. It also has vitamin B, A, C, and E along with zinc, iron, potassium, and many others.

Other Cannabinoids

Like CBD, other cannabinoids also have a positive impact on our bodies.

What Are The Benefits Of These Extra Compounds?

Not only do these other compounds contribute in their own way, but they also enhance the effectiveness of CBD. This phenomenon is called the entourage effect. Because of this effect, you will observe that the results are better and quicker.
